Rubadub Mo(o)nday

June 16, 2014  /  Serendubity

It's rub-a-dub Mo(o)nday and you know what that means! Plenty of dubby listening material to get you through the week, plus some huge additions to our Dub Saray stage! We hope you're as excited as we are to hear these guys performing live at this years Serendubity - Rhythm & Space Festival, from the 18th-20th of July near Berlin!

Mayd Hubb meets Joe Pilgrim

Following the release of their full-length studio album "Mellowmoon" in 2012, Mayd Hubb & Joe Pilgrim find themselves in a continuous orbit of the earth, captivating audiences with their undeniably original and energetic live performance. While combining organic elements with interstellar soundscapes and conscious lyrics, they create a unique musical fusion which encompasses the earth, moon and stars, guiding their listeners on a journey into higher dimensions. Their steady contributions to the international dub scene have rightly earned them a dedicated following worldwide, and beyond. This dynamic duo truly knows no borders!

Massive Dub Corporation (Bourges, France)

Consisting of four multi-instrumentalists and musical activists, the young band strives to find the natural balance between synthetic rhythm and acoustic phrasing, leading to a seamless blend of varying analog and electronic elements, ranging from classical french dub to things more roots, stepper and soundsystem oriented. With their recently released 5-track EP « Conception », which features original vocals from MC Brother Culture (on Ninja Assassin) and the Parisian duo Fu-Steps (on Soldiers of Babylon), they demonstrate their common idea: to explore and celebrate the rich and multi-faceted world of dub.

The Dub Doctor & Cian Finn (Ireland)

Hailing from Galway, The Dub Doctor has been practicing his art for over a decade, creating a steady following and solid reputation through his dynamic live performances, which incorporate live instrumentation and vocalists from an array of backgrounds. As of late he's also been making waves as a producer - laying his roots in different genres, having recently remixed for the likes of world renowned artist Sinead O'Connor.

In recent years, Cian Finn has been one of the most defining voices in contemporary dub music. His conscious lyrics go deep beneath the skin, while his voice brings light to the darkest of places. Besides having performed on stages across Europe with artists such as Mad Professor, Zion Train, Iration Steppas, Mungo’s Hi-Fi and Dubkasm, he's also recorded original material for various labels, including Radikal Guru's aptly-named "Moonshine Recordings".
